Social Media Intern
Kendall Records
Over the summer, I began to think about agency marketing as a career for me post-graduation. Working with a variety of clients in an upbeat, dynamic environment sounds like a pretty good time, if you ask me. As I began to apply for fall internships to get some experience, I remembered I had two friends who had worked at this place called ‘Ardent Creative’ and they both had nothing but praise for the agency. Fortunately for me, Ardent was looking for a Social Media Intern. I interviewed with Jessica and James, was told I would learn a lot, and started a week later!
Since then, I’ve learned how to apply social media to business. Any brand that lacks a social media presence is truly missing out on a critical component of digital marketing and I’m thankful to have been able to learn how it all works! I had the chance to manage several social media accounts, engage in brainstorming sessions, create graphics, and write blogs (something I never thought I’d enjoy doing as much as I did). Ardent gives true responsibility to their interns and treats them as if they’re just another member of the team.
friends with some pretty cool people along the way, too. Ardent is the most welcoming group of people an intern could hope to find. They want to know you as a person – even if your name is still ‘Intern’ three months into the semester. You’re encouraged to bring your personality to work because you’re more than just an employee or intern. It truly is a fun place to work and it’s the company culture and hilarious people who work here that make it so. I could always count on my daily dose of sarcasm, laughing, and pop culture commentary from the digital marketing team. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings with another group of people.
Thank y’all for laughing at my jokes, introducing me to the best people in Fort Worth, letting me come in and dominate the College Pick ‘Em, and making me feel like a part of the Ardent family.
